Groth's Tree Farm started in Dixonville, Oregon in 1982 when Gary and Penny Groth planted their first crop of trees. As the farm grew so did the family including Garrett, the oldest, then Taylor, Abby and finally Braden. The farm was very successful in Dixonville for nearly twenty years.
In 1998, the family and the operation moved to Glide, Oregon. A new crop of Christmas trees was planted in 2002 with the first harvest in 2007. Gary and Penny continued to manage the tree farm for many years and the kids would help during breaks from college. In 2014, Gary and Penny decided to hang up their hats, and passed on the management of the farm onto the three boys.
Though the farm has changed over the years, the experience for the customers remained the same. Customers do not simply come to the farm to pick out a Christmas tree, they come for the experience. Every customer is greeted and assisted by a member of the Groth family. The person who helped you load your tree may have been the one who planted it! You may even take a moment to warm up by the fire and enjoy good company and a homemade cookie. It is truly a family experience!
